Jenna Fischer's best-known role was that of Pam Beesly from the popular television series The Office. In appreciation of her performance, she won the Emmy award for the Best Actress in the Supporting Role. In addition, she won 2 SAG Awards.
Her mother, Anne, was a performer in church theater when she was young and instilled a passion for theater and performances in Jenna. Jenna grew up watching her mother Anne performing in church plays. It instilled in her a love for theatre.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her roots following the completion of The Office. Off-Broadway's production of Reasons for Being Happy was written and directed by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was a part of Steve Martin's Meteor Shower - an absurdist comedy starring Greg Germanyn as well as Josh Stamberg - for the Old Globe Theatre's first world premiere.
The cast of the show, including Angela Kinsey (the co-star of Fischer) as well as her actual best friend, Angela Kinsey from The Office, started a podcast in the month of October.
